Tribe of Issachar

Meaning "He is Wages" or "his reward will come" Issachar is the ninth son of Jacob and Leah. According to tradition the ancestors of this tribe are said to be religious scholars. Their blessing proclaimed they would become the hard working/for hire tribe throughout Israel.  Inheriting land from the Jordan River to Mt. Carmel, they are only one of two tribes to not complete the conquest of their territory
